Denunciations of charges: In March 2022, the sister of patient Xiomara Mejias alerted that her sister had been in this hospital for two months waiting for traumatology surgery, and that one of the doctors had asked for money to give her access to the operating room, this without considering the supplies.
In November and December 2021, a citizen reported that in the traumatology department of this hospital an anesthesiologist had charged 35 dollars for a post-op assessment. In addition to 25 dollars for a COVID test, and food for the surgical team.
In September 2023, a Facebook page that posts denunciations of this hospital’s staff (known as Avispa Vargas), published a complaint of an employee who said that two employees of the traumatology department were expecting an intervention but were not sure if they would get it because they didn’t have any money to pay for it. These employees explained that a specialists benefits patients of his private practice or others who pay up to 1,200 dollars for scheduled surgery. In August 2023, the same page posted that the neurosurgery and traumatology departments demand patients to rent or purchase supplies in certain commercial houses.
